Hello Everyone!
Arriving from the United States to London, England was an adventure on its own. With myself being a first time out of country traveler, traveling for me is a little bit crazy and nervous. But I survived from flying from Columbus, Ohio to Toronto, navigating through the airport of Toronto, Canada, traveling 7 hours on a Boeing 777 from Toronto to London UK and arriving to London Heathrow Airport to start on this amazing internship in the UK.
Since I do not start on my internship until Monday, I began to adapt to the British culture and a dose of what to expect for my internship at Arsenal all in my first day of arriving to the UK.
At Arsenal, I was given a tour of the many different fields and the in and outs of the training facility before starting work. I can tell from the staff that they are proud of their work and continue to improve the pitches to still be the best in the Premier League. I met many people on my first day including the manager himself (which was very exciting!). It was a shame that I could not work officially for Arsenal until Monday. But this excited me even more about the opportunities and chances of learning more about this wonderful industry in Sportsturf.
It will be an interesting internship coming up both for working and living in a different country. It is strange of the differences of the US culture and the UK culture, but I have about 3 months to experience what England offers to an American like myself.
Stay tuned for my weekly updates every Friday during my time in England. Cheers!
