My peer mentor group went to Condado in the Short North. We went on Sunday, October 28, 2018. We all took the COTA bus there, sat down and talked while we waited for our food. We took the COTA back. My favorite parts about the experience were definitely getting to talk with my peer mentor group and the great food that we got to enjoy. Another part that I liked was being able to see what Columbus has to offer. What I learned is that Condado is not very busy on Sunday nights. I also learned how to easily navigate the COTA bus system. These will definitely be good things to know for the future. I would definitely recommend it to other people because the food was amazing. I would 100% go back because it was an easy bus ride and I enjoyed the food so much. This was an amazing experience that I can’t wait to continue next semester.
For the second “Explore Columbus” assignment, I went to Insomnia Cookies on High Street with Katelyn Moreno. Katelyn and I also walked down past Insomnia Cookies and a little bit past Cazuelas to see what was there. We went on Monday, November 27, 2018. I really enjoyed the cookies as I had never been there before. I got a six pack of a mix of cookies, and I shared them with my roommates. I did not like how cold it was outside, but we toughed it out. I learned that Insomnia delivers until 3 am (good for late night study sessions) and that they have mini cookie cakes with frosting and funny sayings like “Sorry your day sucked, have a cookie.” I will definitely be getting one of those once finals week is over. I would definitely go back to Insomnia Cookies. The cookies were delicious and served warm. I would gladly go back for a warm cookie and a bottle of milk
