Reminders for Belmont County 4-H Program!
The Belmont County 4-H Program is rolling along as we begin 2021. Below you will find various dates to know and information to be aware of with approaching due dates and deadlines!
Due to the typical turn in day of January 31st being on a Sunday this year, the OSU Extension office will be accepting the following items on February 1st.
4-H Camp Counselor Applications – to those older youth who would like to be a camp counselor this year at camp. We are moving forward with plans for camp and camp counselor trainings. Please read the instructions attached to the front of the application as this provides important dates for trainings. This application can be located at the following link.
Blue Ribbon Officer Books– For those 2020 Secretaries, Treasurers and News Reporters wishing to compete for the Blue Ribbon Officer awards, your books (scrapbook for News Reporter) are due to the Extension office by February 1st. A list of criteria was provided in organizational club packets picked up by your advisors. Check with them for criteria if you have not already received this list.
Ohio Achievement Records- To any youth wishing to apply for an achievement award in their project area(s) or a chance to attend a state level camp or national trip, this form needs to be completed and turned in to the Extension office by February 1st. .
Completed livestock project record books– If you finished your project record books following fair by working on profit loss statement, completing goals sections, etc. Turn in your completed livestock records to the Extension office for a chance to win a cash reward.
Club of Distinction Award Application– This application is to be filled out by the Organizational Advisor if the club wishes to apply for 2020 Club of Distinction. This form is due to the Extension office February 1st.
Mandatory Yearly Financial Summary for the club- This form is to be completed and turned in to the Extension Office no later than February 1st. This form is utilized for us to complete your clubs tax forms at the beginning of the year. It is required by the state office.
New Volunteer Applications- Any clubs planning to have new volunteers join them in the coming year, please make sure that all new volunteers and advisors are turning their applications in by February 1st. References listed must have completed addresses or emails listed in order for us to complete reference checks.

4-H Council will be holding its first meeting of the year February 4th at 6:00 p.m. at the Wise Building on the fairgrounds. If you are interested in joining the county 4-H Council, we would be happy to have you come to our next meeting.
We have had a great start to many families completing their online 4-H Enrollment this year! If you have yet to enroll you or your child in the Belmont County 4-H Program, please go to the link below to access the 4HOnline 2.0 website. The 2021 Virtual Ohio 4-H Conference will bring together 4-H volunteers and teens (age 13 and older) from across Ohio. You can participate in a variety of educational sessions that offer something for everyone! Join us as we learn from one another to make the best better for Ohio 4-H programs.
Virtual sessions will start at 9:00 am on February 20 and 7:00 pm on February 23 & 25.
