The flood of Somali Bantu refugees into America still stands as a point of controversy in the community of Lewiston, Maine. Lewiston has a large number of refugees making the city home sparking two different responses in the community, positive and negative. With the sudden introduction of these refugees, an introduction that took a majority of residents by surprise, positive along with negative reactions are expected. In the two sections incorporated on this page, these reactions will be explored in more detail.
