Onboarding In-Services

Onboarding Overview

Ohio State University Extension and the Agriculture & Natural Resources program area have implemented a required onboarding program for new ANR educators in Ohio. It is a separate training from what is offered by Learning & Organization Development when you are hired. The ANR program is focused on helping new ANR educators to fill their toolbox with the essentials for success in your new position. You will be taught some subject matter and some programming ideas to help you to get off to a good start, plus you will be introduced to many educators and specialists from across the state to help develop personal and professional relationships with your colleagues.

OSU Extension leadership has approved this onboarding process and your Area Leader is aware that this training is a mandatory training and should be added to your calendars. When possible, these trainings will be held in-person. Otherwise they will be conducted through Zoom. Once you have completed one calendar year of training, you will be a graduate of the ANR Onboarding process. While it is a mandatory training, we hope that you will find it to be a worthwhile opportunity to lay a strong foundation for your Extension career.

Should you have any questions about the ANR Onboarding process, do not hesitate to reach out to Lee Beers (beers.66@osu.edu). We look forward to meeting you and to providing you with some tools to be successful as a county ANR Extension Educator.
