Grape Team

Grape Production

Brief description of your team:

A grape team within Extension has been around on paper for many years. People with official Extension appointments used to report our annual activities for performance reviews – I remember entering information like that 10+ years ago. That was definitely before Andy Kirk and Maria Smith joined OSU. That was when teams were very popular. Keith Smith, former director of extension, was big on teams. But, that was many moons ago. Our group is formalized insofar as there is currently a fixed term viticulture Extension contract with the Ohio Grape Industries Committee in which a group of us are the collaborators. I don’t believe there is formalization of the “grape team” within the college beyond that, with respect to roles, structure, or long term planning. We visited on this topic back in 2017-2019 in a few of our team meetings, but did not get very far from what I recall.  It might help to get a better sense of what the next step is after the survey so that the group can provide a better idea as to how we can be of assistance.
