G.O.A.L.S.

Update:
Academic Enrichment: This semester I took Terror and Terrorism with Jeffery Lewis. This class was very informative to me because it gave me a new perspective on terrorism. I learned that things that we categorize as terrorism may not actually be terrorism. They could be freedom fighters. this is especially the case with the FLN in Algeria when they were under the French. Through this class I was also able to learn about a lot of different “terrorist” organizations. For example, I learned about the Weather Underground. They were a terrorist group in the United States during the 60’s who were very much anti-government.

Leadership Development: I currently hold 2 leadership positions. First, I am the Co-President of Arabic Language Club. As Co-President, I do administrative tasks and ensure that the meetings run smoothly as well as provide material for group discussion. I am also a Student Cook Lead at Traditions at Kennedy. I make sure that all of the required tasks get done efficiently and assist the full time Cooks with anything they need. I am currently working on becoming a Student Cook Manager. I am finished with my Student Cook Manager List and am just waiting to hear back from my boss with the results of my interview and test. I am very excited to be the new Student Cook Manager at Kennedy.

Service Engagement: I have had the fantastic to volunteer with refugees in Columbus. I got to work with elementary school kids with World Relief Columbus. This was an amazing opportunity because I got to speak with kids who had just recently moved to the United States from the Middle East. I loved getting to spend time with the kids and just have fun. We were able to teach each other English and Arabic.
