Diversity

Diversity is important to me as a leader, and should be to everyone leader or not, because it breaks up the monotony of the average work environment. It is important to view everyone as equals. Everyone has different perspectives on things, and if someone is excluded because they are different, you may miss out on a very valuable person with a very valuable perspective and ideas.  Experiencing new things also enriches your life and makes you a more multidimensional person.

Motivation

Understanding your motivation helps center you and realize your goals. It also helps you prioritize your life and find what is the important to you. When you know what is important to you, you can then develop your personal leadership style.

My motivation in the short term is graduating and finding a full time job. In the long run, my motivation is to be successful in my professional relationships and to be happy with my life, no matter how much money I make.

Pictures in Crest

Learning- I put a picture of a screenshot of the email that notified me that I will be graduating in August of this year. This signifies me accomplishing part of my goal of continuing my education.

Loyalty- I put a picture of my dog, because he is the most loyal friend I have.

Humor- I put a picture of the homepage of Buzzfeed pets because that’s where I find humor when I’m feeling down. I think it’s important to find humor in daily life.

Innovation- I put a picture of a 3-D printer, because  that’s probably one of the coolest and most innovative products out there right now.

Collaboration-  I put a picture of two people shaking hands because if you don’t work together in life, you just end up working harder.
