The origin of the Otavalan people: In northern Ecuador, a ethnic group emerges. The Otavalo region located in the northern part of Ecuador, was taken over first by the Inca, and then by the Spaniards when the Inca were taken over by them. The Otavalo region was given to spanish settlers and when they realized that this region was low in resources and not rich for farming, they created factories and textile industries, as this area became known for their abusive working environments where the indigenous people who became known as the Otavalo People of northern Ecuador were worked very hard to create different items.
