Hi Amy! I think this drawing turned out great! The point of this exercise is also to show you how collage can lead you to make a drawing that might not have been able to occur through observation or pure imagination! I am not sure the drawing of your “dream” would have turned out the same if you hadn’t made the collage first! And if you were to make a translation of this drawing again, it might then lead to an entirely new drawing with different edits and discoveries through that process!
You can correct me if I am wrong, but I see this drawing as your brain filled with all the things that are absorbing your thoughts these days? I see a lot of math homework and the stress of time. This really reminds me of how when I worked at a cafe when I was younger and would have terrible dreams about being on an endless sandwich-making conveyer belt train with orders piling up! It is crazy how our dreams can so directly relate to our reality, especially when we are doing something so repetitive throughout the day. All just to say, our brains are a crazy mystery and totally astounding! I am sure you know much more about the science of the brain and our dreams than I do, so I am excited to see how you interpreted the assignment in this way!
