Hi Ali, this is a great reflection! Sometimes it is helpful to write about your process and I hope you found this exercise useful. I am really interested in this new full ink version of your drawing. I think the texture of the fabric is really excellent! It is great to read about all the material experiments with the dryer sheet and orange peel in your writing as well. In this new version that black hole in the top left corner of the drawing is obscured a bit. I really liked its stark contrast with the other objects in your previous drawing.
There is a strong narrative quality to your drawing, which is why you maybe didn’t as much feedback about spaces for improvement. That is a good sign because everyone looking at the drawing was captivated and engrossed in trying to decipher it! One of the comments that came up was that it looks like a theatre stage. I agree – I would love to see a series of drawings like this and decipher a larger story you invent.
