Informational interview

I interviewed Natalie Ferguson, an OSU junior and Health Sciences major. She was my peer leader in my exploration class, and fortunately she had the exact major I have chosen for myself. This interview further solidified my decision to declare health sciences with the ultimate goal of attending graduate school and becoming a physician’s assistant. The interview further reinforced that the major has a strong health foundation in a wide variety of topics, such as healthcare and early development, while also providing time to fulfill graduate school prerequisites. Unexpectedly, I learned that quite a few of the major classes are only offered online. In order to declare I need to decide what minor I will pick, for all health sciences majors must have a minor. Miss Ferguson’s minor was biology. I also need to further study what prerequisites I must fill for graduate school and make sure I incorporate those into my undergraduate degree schoolwork. The major exploration tool that was most helpful to me was the college lectures. Prior to starting college, I had no idea that health sciences, as well as many other majors, were even options for me. The college lectures helped me to explore my options, and consequently delve further into those that interested me. Thus, I could discover health sciences, which I believe is a good fit for me and my ultimate goals.
