Hello, my name is Alex Sloat and I am a 4th-year Forestry, Fisheries, and Wildlife major here at OSU. As an enthusiastic plant lover, I worked this past summer as an intern at the U.S. Forest Service Research Station in Delaware, Ohio, conducting research surrounding emerald ash borers and ash monitoring research, aiding in an elm tree breeding program, and beginning vegetative field identification surveys. I hope that EEOB 2210 will help me gain confidence in my identification of Ohio Plants so that I can apply my knowledge in field surveys and continue working in the great outdoors surrounded by trees, plants, and insects.

Me at the Chadwick Arboretum enjoying the beautiful weather and identifying trees between classes at OSU.

Here is my coat of arms showing that I am from Pataskala, Ohio, am an FFW major at OSU who is aiming to save our forests, and also love working with American elm trees.
