About Me

Hey there! My name is Salma Albezreh. I am a History and Islamic Studies Major in the College of Arts and Sciences here at OSU. In addition to being a part of the Honors program, I am an Eminence Fellow. The Eminence Fellowship aims to provide ambitious and dedicated students with the tools and network to collaboratively serve their community and build an explorative path toward higher education.

My research interests include the history (and intersection) of spirituality, psychology, and medicine within the late antique and medieval Near East. I have previously conducted research in public health and on the history of mental health treatment in Islamicate hospitals.

To read about the research, organizations, and initiatives I’m involved with, please find my Resume here. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to get involved in anything that sounds interesting to you!

Now, for the fun stuff, I love hiking and traveling, I am a writer and reader of poetry, and I’m on a quest for the perfect hazelnut latte. Feel free to contact me (albezreh.2@buckeyemail.osu.edu)!
