The Desirable Jobs

Nowadays, technological jobs have invaded the job market. Because of their shortage, demand for these positions is constantly increasing, as indicated by the law of supply and demand. This idea aroused my curiosity. As a result, I decided to select this path.

But certain qualities guarantee the success of anyone who takes the technological path. Analytical ability, for example, is essential in these jobs because some tasks such as programming require a successful analyst to perform them accurately. In addition to integrity, the field of information security necessitates this capability to safeguard users owing to the domain owner’s access to their information. Therefore, they, like any other work, require specific attributes.

I found the Payscale website to be informative. It conducts a 6-question test to suggest a job based on the information you submitted. Moreover, the site estimates job criteria such as average annual salary, work satisfaction, etc. They all play a significant role in determining the best work for you.

Following the assessment, I was recommended two jobs that matched my personality and attributes. One of them is the Software Development Director. According to the Payscale website, it is about planning and supervising the software development process. The second position is Security Director. Its primary purpose is to maintain the security of the organization’s data, as well as to develop and enhance security systems and protocols. Both are tied to administration, which demands great leadership qualities. Because of their similarities, it is necessary to compare them to determine which is the most appropriate.

Most leaders, like myself, want to be Software Development Director. In accordance with the Payscale website, the average annual income is $148,900, making it appealing to most employees. Furthermore, it is a masculine job, with 94% of males occupying this position. Although it is a rewarding job, it is also taxing. Where the percentage of work stress is 74%. Therefore, only individuals with leadership skills, the ability to work under pressure, and technical skills, are qualified for this job.

When it comes to leadership and pressure, Security Director is no exception. As stated on Payscale Website, males hold 91% of the jobs in this field. And the rate of work satisfaction is 82%. Thus, many people with the needed aptitudes find it attractive. Furthermore, integrity distinguishes this position from others. When you are a director, your integrity is multiplied by two. As a result, you have to take tremendous responsibility for the security of your users’ data.

In conclusion, because of my major, which is correlated to anything technological, I might work in these fields in the future. This demands the identification of all prospective aspects as well as distinctive characteristics that qualify me for these positions. As previously mentioned, the average annual income may be taken into consideration. However, it is not my primary priority. The most significant factor is job satisfaction. It acts as a catch-all for a variety of elements, including income, job description, work environment, and a variety of other contributing elements.
