Columbus To-Do List

For my Columbus To-Do List, I decided to choose the “Ice Cream and Desserts” list in order to gain a better understanding of why Columbus is known as one of the premier locations to get such sweet treats. The thing I’m most excited about in this list is being able to enjoy so many different sweet treats with those in ENR that I’ve come to befriend so far this semester, as well as getting to explore all over Columbus in order to find these delectable desserts. What I hope to get out of this assignment is not only deeper friendships with those that come with me to complete the list, but also a better understanding of the layout of Columbus (whether that’s in the Short North, German Village, or other areas all around the city).

The first place that the group that I went with in order to complete this list decided to go to was Rocket Fizz, a candy and soda shop located just a bus ride and short walk away from The Ohio Union. Even upon walking into the store, I got excited. The shop was colourful and exciting, with metal posters lining the walls and candy and soda filling every portion of the room in front of us. Rocket Fizz was not confusing to get to or to shop at in the least, and was an overall enjoyable experience for us all. I loved the vast array of candies and sodas that the shop had to choose from, from delicious options to rather gross ones (Candied bugs, ranch flavoured soda). I decided to get a flavor known as “Martian Grape”, a type of soda with an especially fun bottle that I’ve kept on my desk since going. All in all, an enjoyable experience that I would recommend to anyone.
