This project aims to estimate the health impacts of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) from traffic with a focus on Central Ohio communities. We will deploy mobile sensors to measure PM2.5 concentrations at various locations near heavy-traffic roads across the Columbus metropolitan area. We will also conduct a health survey to understand how exposure to traffic-related PM2.5 during everyday travel affects residents’ health outcomes.
Our air quality data and project results will be made available to the communities, policy makers, and researchers.
