Approach:
Team G aims to create the most efficient AEV for the city of Columbus, OH. They want to focus on making an AEV that is both light and has a large carrying capacity. A lightweight design will help allow the AEV to travel in a quick manner while also not straining the tracks. A large carrying capacity will decrease the amount of trips needed, thus decreasing the overall time it takes to transport products from one place to another.
Research:
After reading an article titled, “What Makes A Car Fuel Efficient?”, the group was able to relate specific design aspects of a fuel efficient car to the design concepts of the AEV. Specific techniques include making models lighter and reducing air resistance through aerodynamic designs. These techniques will be used by the group to focus on efficiency and create the final AEV design.
