Advanced Research and Development:
A Motor Quantity Test was performed to decide whether one or two motors is most energy efficient, without comprising speed, for the final AEV design. The test’s data is provided under the “Labs” tab. The team has concluded that two motors will be used on the final vehicle model.
A Coasting vs. Power Braking Test was also performed and energy consumption was the a main variable being analyzed. Again, more detailed information about this experiment can be found under the “Labs” tab above. Both methods of stopping have beneficial qualities, so a combination of both will be used when the final design and codes are made.
