A Note from the Director of the Honors Program

Hello:

Congratulations on your admission to the Ohio State University College of Nursing! You will be joining an exceptional group of students who learn to Dream, Discover and Deliver and the profession of nursing which is leading the effort to improve health for all people.

I am the Director of the Undergraduate Honors Program at the College of Nursing. I’d like to invite any of you who are interested in working with one of our faculty on their research to apply to the Honors Program here at the College of Nursing. There is an online application process and faculty select students based on their written responses to questions in the application.

We will assign students offered admission to the Honors Program to one of our 40 faculty engaged in research in a variety of areas addressing health concerns across the lifespan. Honors students participate in various activities that support the research study, produce a written thesis and graduate with Honors Research Distinction. This one-on-one mentorship is a valuable support professionally. In addition, Honors students take a one credit honors seminar and a special research methods class for Honors students in the spring of their first year.

You may reach out to me at tate.230@osu.edu if you have questions about the Undergraduate Honors Program at the College of Nursing. Again, welcome to the College of Nursing.

Sincerely,

Judith A Tate, PhD, RN
