About Me

Hi! My name is Mallory Adler, and I’m a first year student in the Health Science Scholars program here at Ohio State. I am from Cincinnati, Ohio, and I went to an all-girls high school called Saint Ursula Academy, located right on the Ohio River. I played year-round soccer on a competitive team for about 8 years, and I still love to play whenever I can. I love to be outside and enjoy nature– hiking, swimming, biking— and my family often takes trips to various National Parks. I work as a waitress at Skyline Chili, a restaurant chain well-known throughout Cincinnati. I have been working there for over two years now, and have met some of my closest friends through this job.  During high school, I volunteered regularly at the front desk of a nearby hospital and enjoyed interacting with the medical professionals around me. This was one of the many reasons I joined HSS.

I am in the College of Education and Human Ecology, and I am majoring in Exercise Science and planning to minor in Psychology with hopes of becoming a Physical Therapist. Growing up playing sports almost every day allowed me to witness all types of injuries, and I became interested in the world of rehabilitation and therapy. Someday, I want to work with athletes to help get them back on the field after an injury. However, I also want to study Environmental Science, as it was one of my favorite classes in high school. I am interested in pollution and wildlife habitats and am very passionate about climate change and sustainability, so I plan on taking many electives throughout college that will allow me to gain more knowledge on these topics. In the summer after my junior year of high school, I traveled around Europe with my friends. This trip inspired me to want to study abroad at least once during college and explore new parts of the world. I am so excited for all these next four years have to offer!
