Livestock Requirements – Things You Need To Know!

May 1 is the deadline for market hog, dairy, and large breeding livestock registration!
May 4 is spring tag in for feeder calves, market lambs, and market goats. County Born and Raised forms are due at tag in!
June 1 is the deadline for breeding rabbit, fancy, and production poultry fair registration!

Camp-o-saurus is going to be DINO-mite!

Adams County 4-H is going prehistoric for camp this year with our Camp-O-Saurus! Youth completing grades 3-8 are invited to camp with us June 3 – 6 at Canter’s Cave 4-H Cam

p. Registration is now open at go.osu.edu/ALP4HCamp.

The cost of camp for 4-Her’s is $145 thanks to a $20 camp scholarship provided for all members from the Adams County 4-H Advisory Committee. Non-4-H members are also welcome to attend at a cost of $175.

Members wanting to attend camp but needing a little assistance should apply for a 4-H Camp Scholarship by May 1. Applications are available on our website  or at the Extension Office.

 

Kids College – Register Now!

Kids College registration is OPEN!
Kids College is a unique, hands-on opportunity for project aged 4-Her’s to explore and experience non-livestock projects. Learn from experienced instructors, take home items to help with your project work, and be more prepared for pre-fair judging. Oh, and it’s a lot of FUN!

Deadline to register is April 19 and sessions are filled on a first come, first served basis, so don’t delay. Payment must be made to the Extension office by April 19.

Market Hog Registration Due May 1

Market hog registrations are due by May 1, 2024! Hogs must be tagged, photographed, and information submitted at go.osu.edu/markethog24 by the deadline.

Tags are available for market hogs in the Extension office, Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – noon and 12:30 – 4 p.m. Exhibitors do not have to be present to pick up tags. Market hog tags are EID tags for 2024. Please only take as many as you need and return any unused tags to the office.

Exhibitors with hogs born in Adams County are also eligible to exhibit in the County Born and Raised (CBR) show. Completed CBR forms are due to the Extension office by May 1. Please be sure to have the breeder sign and complete their portion of the form.
