Columbus Exploration #1

For this semester, I have chosen to do a food adventure as part of my Columbus explorations. I am most looking forward to trying something new and hopefully establishing new favorite restaurants in the Columbus area. For this experience, my roommates and I have chosen to go to Condados (a really cool taco place). I am looking forward to trying new food, I really enjoy tacos and I have heard great things about Condados. I am also looking forward to riding on the bus to get to Condados. I feel that riding the bus will give me a new view of Columbus.

Condados was absolutely AMAZING! My roomates and I came to celebrate Savannah’s birthday, we will definitely be returning. We all traveled on the city bus and got to see new things that we had not before (for example, cool little art stores in the area). At Condados, we started by ordering a large bowl of queso a with delicious chips. My roomate had never tried queso, so it was great to be able to help her find something new that she loved. I ordered the thai chili tofu tacos and I was so impressed. Everything was absolutely perfect. I would recommend everyone go try it (BE SURE TO GET THE QUESO)!

Columbus Exploration #2

For my second exploration visit, I brought my friend along to explore the architecture in Columbus and get some ice cream. Our first stop was the Short North. In the Short North, we went to Simply Rolled. Simply Rolled is an ice cream place where you pick toppings and mix ins. After this, liquid ice cream mix is poured in the mix ins and flattened/rolled out. The ice cream was delicious despite the long wait. I really enjoyed experiencing ice cream in a new and refreshing way. I can not wait to go back again!
For  the second part of my adventure in Columbus, I walked around and observed all of the beautiful architecture. I walked around the statehouse, city hall, various statues, and the courthouse. I was really blown away by all intricate buildings. The historic statues outside of city hall were amazing. In particular, I really enjoyed seeing the statue of Christopher Columbus, it was so tall! Walking around Columbus really opened my eyed to all that there is to be offered by this amazing city. I also felt that walking around was a great de-stressing activity. Going and relaxing on the huge swings overlooking the river made me feel very calm (and made me forget about all of the midterms coming up).

Columbus Exploration #3

For our HES group experience, we met at Cup O’ Joe. Cup O’ Joe is a small coffee shop in the old short north area. At the coffee shop, I got a latte and a muffin (it was delicious). I feel like I really got to know my peer leader and other group members as a result of this experience. My peer leader was really nice and I feel that we had really great conversations over coffee! I would definitely recommend  Cup O’ Joe, make sure you try their lattes! It would be a great place to relax and study. The atmosphere is super chill and homey.

Career

[“Career” is where you can collect information about your experiences and skills that will apply to your future career.  Like your resume, this is information that will evolve over time and should be continually updated.   For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. Artifacts

This artifact that I have chosen is the first thing that I created in art class during high school. After this project, I became heavily involved in the art program. I have been most passionate about ceramics. This represents me as a person because I consider myself to be vert creative and unique, just like every piece of art that I create.

The next artifact I chose was North Market. The North Market has become a symbol of adventure, as well as a center for new experiences. I feel that I am a very adventurous, so this has been my new outlet to explore. I feel that getting outside of the OSU “bubble” is very good for everyone.
