3 types:

Object Selection Tool (W) outlines the basic vector of an object and selects it, with modes of “lasso” and “rectangle”.

-In Quick Selection (W), drag mouse over objects to brush select. This option is more specific in what is selected.

Magic Wand (W) selects based on color similarities and can edit range.

Selection can be modified by changing the brush size, hardness, and angle
-Hold down SHIFT to click and add more selection over an object.
-To delete any selected areas, hold down ALT (WINDOWS) or OPTION (MAC) and drag mouse over an area.
-The brush select gives the user the most control over what to select, and useful for small details.

-The Magic Wand selects a large area at once.
-General selection depends on color similarities.

5 types:

Selection Tool (V), click and drag to select specific objects or multiple objects (groups). Double-click goes in “isolation mode” , selecting within group and isolating sections.

Direct Selection (A) ignores groups, and selects specific objects. It can edit “anchor points”.

Group Selection is another option of direct selection tool that also isolates groups (similar to Selection Tool), clicking adds more groups.

Magic wand (Y) selects similar colors or color groups.

Lasso Select (Q) is good for vectors with many points – use cursor to wrap around part of object, selecting paths and anchors.

Selection Tool (V) to resize/move/edit framing (bounding box).

Direct Selection (A) is used to resize/move/edit image or text within the framing, selecting anchor points and paths.

Selection Tool (V) select tracks/clips to modify.

Track Select Forward (A) to move forward in a clip, and Track Select Backward (Up Arrow + A) to move backwards in a clip.

-Select anchor points connected to each object.

-Double clicking selects deeper into layer if grouped.
