Crop Tool

Hotkey (C)
Crop Tool (C) is used to cut down images, or focus on a particular area on the image by taking away excess borders.

-Click and drag to create a cropping boarder, then the size and edges can be modified at the top of the Photoshop page.

-Click on the inside of the border to move the image around.

Sub-options:

-Perspective Crop Tool (C) makes a cropping boarder that is dimensional, and makes image visible in different perspectives. The edges of the cropping boarder become different sizes, and measurements can be adjusted. Moving the border will change perspective.

-Slice Tool (C) makes cuts to image, which can be resized or aligned with other slices. Each slice creates its own file to be saved and can be attached to an HTML. This is helpful for cutting out a piece of an image for a website.

Premiere Pro

Razor Tool

Hotkey (C)
Razor Tool (C) allows you to split a clip in the timeline, without altering the clip’s position. The clip itself is unchanged, but each of the clip segments have new “In” and “Out” points. You can find the Razor Tool in Premiere’s main Tools panel, or press the (C) key to select it.

When you split a clip with the Razor Tool, the resulting cut is called a “through edit”. Marked with tiny white triangles that point to the cut, a through edit gives you the opportunity to rejoin the clip. As soon as you move the split clips away from each other, however, the white triangles will disappear.
