June 2021 Advisor of the Month

Check out some of the wonderful things our advising colleagues have done this past month! Thank you to each of you for all of your hard work and dedication to the students in your areas and OSU!

  • Caitlin Burden
    • All of the Math advisors are phenomenal, but I would like to specifically recognize Caitlin Burden for her professionalism, kindness, patience and knowledge. I have worked with her recently on a few different student issues, and she has been incredibly helpful and easy to work with. Despite how busy I’m sure she is, she is always super patient and efficient. Thank you, Caitlin!
  • Andrea Evans
    • She has done an AMAZING job coordinating all things “orientation” for us this summer, and has continued to be a huge support to our advisors, in the process. We have very little wiggle room with our schedules because of numbers (as many departments are experiencing), and even with that, she recognizes that, of course advisors need time off, and she works some magic and makes the schedule work – again and again. She does all of this, plus all her other work, with a smile and a “c’mon, we can do it!” attitude. Orientation is always crazy busy, but it is so much better with Andrea steering us through!
  • Gina Taff
    • Gina has a lot of responsibilities outside of undergraduate advising but has been a vital part of our advising team for the past several years. She steps up without hesitation when our team needs additional support and brings an amazing logistical skillset to event planning and student support. Her ability to foresee potential challenges and provide realistic solutions has helped our team and our students in countless ways. In her interactions with students she is caring and helpful, and she has the ability to tailor her communication style to that which works best for each individual student. Her University knowledge and expertise makes a difference every single day and we are so lucky to have her on our team.
