Check out some of the wonderful things our advising colleagues have done this past month! Thank you to each of you for all of your hard work and dedication to the students in your areas and OSU!
|Deborah Barton||Deborah is an invaluable resource to the Lima Academic Advising team! Her knowledge about OnCourse and how to set up campaigns has helped me save time and broaden my outreach to students. Deborah is always happy to answer questions and is so helpful to both students and co-workers. She is awesome!|
|Whitney Brown||Within the John Glenn College, Whitney has been a pivotal resource and guiding force for our first-year students attempting to navigate college and COVID at the same time. She’s worked hard to develop a virtual orientation and survey experience that engages and supports students at a time when they need it most. Glenn students, faculty, and staff are thankful to have Whitney as a recourse, advisor, colleague, and friend. She’s just an all-around awesome human!|
|Amy Collins-Warfield||Amy has worked tirelessly throughout the summer and into autumn semester to make connections with SpringForward students. Not only has she had hundreds of one-on-one appointments over that time period, she redeveloped curriculum and taught a course that fostered connections in an online environment and created programming to increase student engagement. Amy goes above and beyond her assigned duties all with the goal of making sure that students are able to be successful at Ohio State. She is constantly aware of inequalities and advocating for what is right for the student. Her passion and dedication to student success along with her drive to make things better makes Amy an outstanding advisor.|
|Wendy Hedrick||Wendy always goes above and beyond to help students. She genuinely cares about their success at OSU-Lima and makes every student feel valued. Wendy is also an essential part of our advising team and is always available to help answer questions and assist co-workers. She is a joy to work with!|
|Niki Jaburek||Niki has been working non-stop to make sure our students are students are succeeding this semester. She set up an appointment campaign in September to check on all of her students and see how they were progressing through the semester. The result of the campaign was a fully booked calendar during a slower period in advising. Niki has been working very hard to meet one-on-one with all of her survey students. Our department has been grateful for the support Niki offers to our students through these unprecedented times.|
|Christie Lukegord||Christie has been efficient in supporting her students (~900 split with another advisor), as well as helping her fellow new advisor gain confidence in the major of Health Sciences and the position. She balances these duties well along with a new program Director, but shows grace and enthusiasm. She always has good vibes to give to her team.|
