Global Awareness: Global awareness is a very important topic in the G.O.A.L.S plan. I think this is very important to study because it helps you understand about the world and even people around you. To help me learn more in global awareness, I plan to try to study abroad in the future. I think that this will be a great experience because not only will I be learning about the culture around me, but I would also be experiencing it first hand. While I would take a class in something to help me learn more about the world, I would like my on campus studies to focus as much on my major and future as possible.
Original Inquiry: To complete the original inquiry goal, I would love to either do research with my professors in the fields of physics and engineering. I really love research opportunities and I would love to get as much experience in the real world work environment as possible. In addition to that, I am looking for internships at certain companies over the summer and during my breaks to once again expand my knowledge and experience with working on real projects in real companies.
Academic Enrichment: Academic enrichment is very important to me as a student. It really helps me explore information that might not necessarily be in my major. I plan to do this through outside studies, whether that be online studies and programs, self teaching of certain subjects, in even participating in clubs unrelated to my major. One way I am already preparing to enrich my mind and studies is through archery club. The archery club helps me not only relieve stress, but also learn a lot of terminology and better information in reference to the sport of archery. The other way I plan to do this is by taking extra classes loosely related to my major and maybe even having a professor sponsor a private school study for physics.
Leadership Development: Developing leadership skills can be very difficult if you don’t go out of your way to complete a certain task. To develop my leadership, I plan to either take on leadership roles in some clubs at school, or even help students in my classes who may or may not be struggling with material. This would let me help many different people and share my own knowledge. Taking a leadership position in a school club is another thing I plan to do. This would once again let me share knowledge but also have some control over a club that I am involved in.
Service Engagement: Service engagement is something I plan to do because I know how much it helps different people. Whether that be volunteering at a certain place or just donating my time to raising awareness, service engagement will definitely be a thing that I strive for. I might not have all the time to involve myself in service engagement at school, but I can definitely do this when I go back home from college.
