Mining The Web

Pictured in this post is my piece of art for the mining the web project. When we were talking about the project I remember it was brought up about how images of the same thing are always taken and what is the real point of having all these images. So the first thing that came to mind when I thought of this was the American Flag. It is one thing that has pictures of it taken over and over again but even though the pictures may vary slightly they are essentially of the exact same thing. I felt that making a collage of these images was appropriate to show the repetitiveness of these images even when the pictures vary in angle, time of day, and other ways. Finally I know presentation was important so I chose to present these flags within the shape of The United States of America. The main reason behind this was to show how these flag images all carry a similar meaning and stand for one thing.
