Space, Light, Time

Attached are the pictures that I took for the space, light, and time project.

For the space category I chose a picture that I took at the Mohican State Forest. The picture I choses was taken at the top of a fire tower looking down the stairs. The picture offers a unique perspective down the stairs and out over the trees and road below. It was a steady rain that day that contributed to the picture and adds an extra bit of spark in my opinion.

For the light category I chose a picture of a sunset that I took on a cloudy evening. This picture was not planned for but was a spur of the moment photo taken on my cell phone as I was coming in the drive way at a friends house. The sun was bright that evening and the clouds were glowing so bright that you could not miss it. This picture almost doesn’t do the actual sunset justice but it did capture some of the key elements of color and light. The trees below the horizon provide a nice shadow to help spotlight the sun in the clouds.

Finally for my time picture I chose one of my favorite photos from the weekend that was also taken at the Mohican State Forest. This photo shows the very base of a small waterfall and captures the water striking the puddle at the bottom perfectly in time. The clouds and rain that day really added a unique setting and lighting for the picture that I don’t think would have been captured on a sunny day. The water falling is paused in time and  looking at it you can almost hear the water trickling down.
