On Thursday, October 28, 2021, Advancement’s Buckeyes for Charity coordinators hosted a lunch and learn event at University Square North featuring Camp Oty’Okwa.

Camp Oty’Okwa is a residential camp located in the forests of Hocking Hills State Park and Nature Preserves. The camp has been operated by the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio since 1942. It is open year-round for summer camp, environmental education programs and rental by other groups. Camp Oty’Okwa has access to over 700 scenic acres with the immediate facilities set atop one of the highest hills in the area. Bucks for Charity 2021

Buckeyes for Charity is underway and this year we are Caring for Ohioans! Each year, Buckeyes for Charity provides an opportunity for faculty, staff and retirees to support statewide nonprofit organizations. As we continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, Ohio nonprofit organizations need our help as they adapt. Buckeyes’ donations mean the people in our communities?won’t?lose access to services they rely on to stay safe and healthy.

This year, there are over 850 nonprofit organizations across the state that you can choose to support! They provide services that represent a variety of causes such as food security, health and wellness, animal welfare and the environment. Whether you are considering being a first-time donor or continuing your support, it will be easy to find a cause that resonates with you. We also realize that the times continue to be challenging, so any level of support you are comfortable providing is sincerely appreciated.

Donations using payroll deduction start at a modest $1 per charity. As a reminder, ongoing payroll deduction pledges will renew automatically, but you can make changes to your pledge if you’d like. If you’d rather make a one-time gift, $5 is the minimum per charity. Please visit buckeyesforcharity.osu.edu for more information.

The campaign runs through November 5, so keep an eye out for announcements and links on our Advancement Intranet regarding charity spotlights, fun facts and surveys, virtual brunch/lunch-and-learns from nonprofit organizations and more!

Your 2021 BFC Advancement Coordinators are Alexandra Aughenbaugh, Julie Burgess, Dan Keck and Pamela Thompson-Cook. Please reach out to any one of us with questions or requests for assistance.

We are excited for the opportunity to support the people of Ohio. As Advancement Buckeyes, we can achieve more together than we can alone!
