Approach to MCR
Division Q will aim to create the most efficient and safest travel conditions for the AEV travelling to its destination. To achieve this, the division will draft ideas as to what the most optimal course of action would be, then test this through programming the AEV. After initial tests, the team will make any changes necessary in order to produce a route with minimal errors [2].
Key areas:
- Weight Reduction – Reducing weight allows for less power used to achieve the same results
- Aerodynamics – Improved aerodynamics makes the movement of the AEV more predictable and uses less power
- Power usage – The battery must be able to provide enough power to move the vehicle and last for the duration of the mission
- Safety – Should be constructed and operated in a way that does not pose a risk to the operators or bystanders
