Mandatory Advisor Update
Our first Mandatory Advisor Update is coming up! If you plan to renew your Morgan Co. 4-H volunteer status you must attend ONE of these sessions!
Our first session is this upcoming Monday! Monday February 20th from 10am-12pm. We have another session that day from 1pm-3pm!!
Our last session will be on March 14th from 6:30pm-8:30pm.
These sessions will be held at the extension office.
In order to completely renew your volunteer status you must do a number of things;
- Re-enroll on 4-H online
- Attend a mandatory advisor updates for county updates
- Complete Youth Activities and Programs (policy 1.50) (Offered at the mandatory advisor update)
- Complete one other training topic (Offered at the mandatory advisor update)
- Renew background check if needed (every 4 years)
4-H Online Office Assistance
4-H ONLINE ASSISTANCE
No paper enrollment forms will be accepted. Youth and their parents should complete online member enrollments, as they require electronic signatures providing legal consent for participation and serve as the official project enrollment record of the child. Volunteers are encouraged to provide assistance but should not complete an enrollment for a child outside their own family.
The Morgan County Extension Office will be holding 4-H Online Enrollment assistance sessions on the following dates:
- February 20th 9:00-10:00 am or 3:00-5:00 pm
- March 9th 4:30-7:00 pm
- March 27th 4:30-6:30 pm
If families need assistance to complete their 4-H online enrollment, they are encouraged to attend one of these sessions. iPads will be available for families to use. They must have access to the email account that is associated with their 4-H online account. Families need to call the Extension office at 740-962-4854 to register for the help sessions.
2023 4-H Conference
Registration is open to attend the 2023 Ohio 4-H Conference. Registration forms available at: https://ohio4h.org/sites/ohio4h/files/imce/about_us/reg%20form_3.pdf or you can pick up a hard copy at the Extension Office. The Morgan County registration deadline is February 3 if you want your fees paid by the 4-H committee.

Market Steer Check-In
It is that time of the year again! There was a letter sent out to all previous or potential exhibitors planning on showing a market steer at the 2023 Morgan County Fair.
Here is a reminder for those interested. Market steer tag-in/weigh-in will be Saturday, December 17 from 8:00-10:00am at the fairgrounds. If an exhibitor plans to exhibit at the Ohio State Fair, DNA samples will be taken.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the OSU Extension office or a Senior Fair Board member.
Older Youth Surveys Deadline Extended
Due to the early opening and closing of our older youth surveys this year compared to other years we have decided to extend our deadline to apply for older youth opportunities in 2023 to Friday November 25th at 4:30pm!
Note: there are age requirements to these opportunities. These ages are as of Jan 1st 2023 see below:
If you know anyone or are someone who is interested in Junior Fairboard (14), Junior Leaders (14), Older Youth In Training (13), Carteens (15 with permit), Camp counselors (15 by camp), etc. Please apply soon!

FINAL REMINDER: Older Youth In Training 2023
The deadline to apply to be apart of Older Youth In Training is fast approaching!
4-H members that are interested need to complete the interest form by November 21st 2022 that is this upcoming Monday so act fast!
Older Youth In Training is a program for 4-H members 13 years old as of January 1, 2023. It is a year to learn more about all the older youth programs that become available to youth at 14+ years old in 4-H years. In addition, you help plan Cloverbud Day Camp and the program is REQUIRED to be a CIT (Counselor in Training) in 2023. Here is the link to the survey to complete: https://go.osu.edu/oyit2023
