The 2018 Legacy Auction

It’s become customary to feature both a Live and Silent auction of donated items during the annual Legacy Dinner. 100% of the proceeds from the donated items benefit the Fairfield County 4-H Endowment. 2018 was no different with many great donations being offered. Below is a partial listing of what was donated for the 2018 auction.

  • When you participate in this year’s 4-H Legacy Auction you will have the unique opportunity to purchase “dinner for 8” served in the comfort of your home featuring the Grand Champion winner of the 2017 Fairfield County Cattlemen’s  Championship of the County, Chili Cook-off with Beef. That’s right, Tarah Reed, the creator of the Mimi’s Smokin’ Brisket Chili that was declared champion chili during last year’s county fair will prepare and deliver to the home of the lucky bidder her award winning chili, prepared to serve eight. Don’t miss this opportunity to entertain your family and friends with dinner that features Tarah’s Grand Champion smoked beef brisket chili recipe served in your home right along side Tarah’s own famous cornbread!
  • Keller Farms Landscape & Nursery has donated a $200 shopping spree at any of their locations, for any of their services or products. The winning bidder may shop at the Keller Farms garden store outlet or greenhouse, or choose from any of their other services including award winning landscape designs and installations, site management, irrigation, seasonal color, lawn care maintenance, sports turf care, erosion control, snow & ice management, or holiday decorating.
  • Four (4) tickets and a parking pass to the Columbus Clippers “Lego Night” game on July 20 have been donated by Buckeye Ready Mix
  • Back, yet again, by popular demand . . . Lancaster’s oldest independent grocery – Bay Food Market along with Bay Packing have donated half a processed hog. The winning bidder will fill their freezer with locally grown bacon, ham, pork chops, sausage and more.
  • Keller Farms Landscape & Nursery is donating tickets to the 2018 Festival of the Lights they will be hosting again this year at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds throughout the Holiday season.
  • And, Buckeye Ready Mix is also donating 2 tickets to the Ohio State vs Oregon State football game on September 1, PLUS, you’re invited to be a part of the Buckeye Ready Mix tailgate prior to the game . . . thanks Randy Painter!!!
  • Debbie Miller has called on the passion for yeast baking she acquired during her days in 4-H and is bringing her homemade Pecan Rolls as well as a batch of her famous Cinnamon Rolls. Plus, while she’s in the kitchen, she’s also baking a Strawberry-rhubarb pie that originates directly from her garden.
  • Caleb and Brittany Auman of Auman Landscape are once again donating a bagged and balled maple tree that can be planted into your landscape. This generous offering to the Legacy Auction by the Auman’s also entitles the winning bidder to the opportunity to have the tree planted as a memorial to a loved one at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds if you wish.   • A gift basket featuring wine from local winery Clearcreek Country Vineyard has been donated by Connie and Stan Smith.
  • Granville Milling is providing Gift Certificates good for items picked up at their store in Lancaster.
  • Brittany Walters of Britt Nicole Photography has offered a photography package to the highest bidder on June 14th.
  • The Clearcreek Showmen 4-H Club has created a “Movie Night” gift basket for the benefit of the Fairfield County 4-H Endowment.
  • Local craftsman Bill Sitterley has hand crafted and finished another special wooden bowl and he and Sally have donated it to the auction for the benefit of the 4-H Endowment.
  • Thank you Zack McCandlish for donating your hand crafted cutting board and pairing it with wine and cheese.

  • Carol Black has once again donated a hand drawn, hand hooked mat depicting one of the historic buildings at the fairgrounds . . . here’s a sneak peek at what she’s working on this year!
  • Plus, Mom Black will be heading back to her country kitchen! Homemade pies – 2 peach and 2 blackberry – are being made and offered to the 4-H Legacy auction by Fairfield County 4-H alum Carol Black.
  • Thank you Danielle Bartos for donating 2 pair of Lularoe Leggings to benefit this year’s 4-H Legacy Auction.
  • Kris and Denny Doyle have offered a beautiful copper etched print to benefit the auction!
  • This just in . . . a Friend of the 4-H Endowment has donated a children’s size cedar picnic table for the benefit of the auction!
  • The Blue Ribbon Showmen 4-H club is donating 2 gift baskets to benefit the auction. One if filled with homemade pie! And, the other is a grill/camp BBQ basket.
  • The Bloomin’ Clovers 4-H club will be bringing a Chocolate Lovers basket for the benefit of the auction.
  • Carroll Country 4-Hers are donating a basket with a pool theme.
  • The Wild About Animals 4-H club has donated an Amish Country basket to the Legacy Auction.
  • Extraordinary Explorers 4-H club has designed and created their own original art piece
  • If you enjoy Young Living Essential Oils, you’ll have the opportunity to support the Endowment Fund with your bids!
  • McQuires Distinctive Truck has donated a chainsaw for the benefit of the 4-H Endowment
  • You won’t want to miss an opportunity to bid on a bracelet and $20 gift certificate from Rustic Gals Boutique
  • The wine you will enjoy during the happy hour prior to dinner has been created by Rockside Winery & Vineyards. They have donated a $40 gift certificate good toward the purchase of any of their fine wines.

The auctions as well as dinner will be held in the shop at the Miller Farms near Pleasantville. In addition to what you find listed above, examples of suggested items that are appreciated for these auctions include themed gift baskets, event tickets, autographed memorabilia, gift certificates, jewelry, photography, art work, baked goods and sweet treats, or any items that represent 4-H and youth.
