2019 4-H Endowment Dinner & Auction coming on June 13

Dear Friends of the Fairfield County 4-H Endowment . . . mark the date – June 13th – on your calendar for the 2019 Legacy Dinner and Auction.

Join us for the 10th anniversary celebration of the Fairfield County 4-H Endowment Dinner and Auction, held this year in the Ed Sands/Farm Bureau Building on the Fairfield County Fairgrounds. We’re excited about this new location that offers ample parking, no need for portable restrooms, and an opportunity for lots of reflection back on the great traditions of years gone by.

Mark the date – June 13th – and plan to bring a friend and join us to celebrate Fairfield County 4-H.

4-H Endowment is THANKFUL for YOUR Support

This past year the Fairfield County 4-H Endowment board has been extremely busy. First, our annual fund raising effort was held in mid-June at the Miller Farm Shop near Pleasantville. With nearly 300 individuals in attendance, we were able to raise over $20,000 for the 4-H Endowment funds. Those funds will ultimately help to sponsor trips, educational events and purchase program supplies for youth currently enrolled in the Fairfield County 4-H program.

Fast forward to Sunday, October 7, 2018 and the 4-H Endowment board gathered again to help kick off the Fairfield County Fair with a pancake flippin’ good time awareness Breakfast. Again, nearly 300 early morning 4-H members, parents and friends enjoyed the donation breakfast. It has become a tradition and a great way to start the Fairfield County Fair.

During the 4-H Panorama, the 4-H Endowment board presented a check for over Continue reading

You’re Invited . . . to Help Leave a Legacy!

Make your reservation today, and plan to join us for an evening of fun, food and giving at the 2018 Fairfield County 4-H Legacy Dinner and Auction! This year’s event is being held in the Miller Farm shop on Thursday, June 14, and tickets are now on sale.

The Fairfield County 4-H Youth Development program strives to teach leadership, citizenship and life skills to the 1342 4-H club members who have enrolled in 3197 projects this year. While most young people are participating in traditional 4-H club experiences, children who are not yet 4-H age can participate in a non-competing, activity based curriculum known as the Cloverbud program. Beyond that, nearly 800 additional youth are exposed to 4-H work through school enrichment programs. In addition, the 4-H Youth Development program also offers Continue reading

Meet Adam Sharp, Featured Speaker for the 2018 Legacy Dinner

“Fun learning, friends and instilling good citizenship principles are top of mind when I recall my days in 4-H”

We’re proud to welcome Fairfield County’s own Adam Sharp to the 2018 Legacy Dinner & Auction. During the evening Adam will share insight into what it’s meant to him to have grown up participating as a local 4-H member. He’ll expand on what it means when he says, “We learn through 4-H how groups can properly organize, operate and are governed, we elect our leaders, we learn to compete respectfully and how to volunteer and help others.  All of these skills are needed now more than ever in society and 4-H provides them.”

Today Adam Sharp serves as the Executive Vice President of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, Inc. As executive vice president, Sharp serves as the chief executive of the statewide organization and leads efforts to advance its mission of working together for Ohio farmers to advance agriculture and strengthen our communities.

Sharp has over 20 years of experience developing and implementing farm policy at the state and national levels and has Continue reading

The Auction; Always Fun, and Entertaining!

This basket featuring wine from local winery Clearcreek Country Vineyard will sell at auction on June 14th

Admittedly, the annual 4-H Legacy Auction provides opportunities for a multitude of supporters to raise funds that will help ensure a bright future for Fairfield County’s 4-H Youth Development program. However at the same time, it’s also become an enjoyable and entertaining tradition featuring a variety of donated items for both a Live and Silent auction. Plus, 100% of the proceeds of the Auction benefit the Fairfield County 4-H Endowment.

This year’s event will be no different with many great donations being offered. If you’d like to Continue reading

Everyone Plays a Vital Role in Leaving a 4-H Legacy!

Eight years ago the 4-H Legacy Dinner & Auction was begun in an effort to create a formal annual event where local 4-H alumni and supporters could come together for an evening of fun and fellowship benefiting the Fairfield County 4-H Endowment. To conduct such an event each year, it takes the cooperation and support of many different individuals and businesses. One of those groups of supporters are the contributing sponsors that generously donate funding and services that allow for the comfortable evening everyone enjoys when they come together in celebration of 4-H Youth Development.

This year is no different as several have already committed to contributing sponsorships for 2018. Included among those are Continue reading

Thinking about “Giving Back” in the New Year

We are just days away from ringing in 2018 and for many of us that typically means a resolution or two.  But, what about making a resolution to “give back” some of your time, talent or resources?  Did you ever think about some of your fondest childhood memories or perhaps memories made together as family? Are you in a place in your life to give back to those organizations or charities that helped you become the person you are today?

One of my best friends always tells me her ability to set a table, or put together a Continue reading

4-H Legacy Breakfast; Celebrate the Present, Look Forward to the Future!

Come enjoy a flippin good time!

If you’ve been around Fairfield County very long, you realize the Saturday before the Fair – affectionately known as move-in day – might be the most hectic day exhibitors and their families experience during that week. If you’re one of those who agree and get up the next morning after all the exhibits are settled in and find yourself in need of an opportunity to relax and unwind, be sure to attend the 4-H breakfast!

Please consider this the Fairfield County 4-H Endowment Board’s formal invitation to you to Continue reading
