The 2016 Legacy Auction

It’s become customary to feature both a Live and Silent auction of donated items during the annual Legacy Dinner. 100% of the proceeds from the donated items benefit the Fairfield County 4-H Endowment. This year was no different with many great donations offered. Below is a partial listing of what was donated for the 2016 auction.

  • 4 tickets located in the Club Seats behind home plate at Huntington Park for the July 19 baseball game between the Columbus Clippers and the Louisville Bats. These tickets have been donated to the auction by Buckeye Automotive Group: Nissan, Honda and Toyota.
  • Lancaster’s oldest independent grocery – Bay Food Market along with Bay Packing have donated half a processed hog. The winning bidder will fill their freezer with locally grown bacon, ham, pork chops, sausage and more.
  • Two CJ Brown limited edition “Artist Proofs are being donated to the auction by Connie and Stan Smith.
  • a Mossberg International Silver Reserve II over/under 12 gauge shotgun with 28 inch barrels. It has 3 choke tubes, two – modified, one full choke. It has engraving, a nice wood finish, barrel selector and built in recoil pad. It’s used, but top of the line and in excellent condition. Donated to the Legacy Auction by Kim Root.
  • The Snip ‘N’ Mousse 4-H club is donating a gift basket with the theme of a Night on the Town. It includes gift cards to various shops and food establishments. The kids are excited to take part by offering this basket!
  • Celebrate Independence Day with this 4th of July ‘Picnic’ Basket donated by the Salyers Family. Included will be your fire crackers, a gift card to KFC, and the trimmings for your picnic!
  • Carol (Stebelton) Black has donated a hand drawn, hand hooked, framed rug depicting the Round Dairy Barn at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds. All the materials in this rug originate from Fairfield County including the raw wool it’s created of. This is the very first in a series of county fair framed rugs Carol has planned! Here’s a sneak peek at this one of a kind creation.
  • Enjoy a two night stay in the 3 bedroom Brookside Cottage in the beautiful Hocking Hills. The cabin includes king, queen and full size beds, two full baths with Jacuzzi tubs, a hot tub and full kitchen. The winning bidder may enjoy their stay at the time of their choice except for October (subject to cabin’s availability). This donation to the 4-H Legacy Auction is being made by Dalton and Lexie Hyme.
  • 4-Creation 4-Hers have donated 2 gift baskets to the Fairfield County 4-H Endowment Legacy Basket Auction. One basket will feature items for “Beach Fun” and the second basket is entitled “Time To Relax
  • Augusta Kilbarger and John Verdow, the youth selected to go on the special Citizenship Washington Focus trip for the Presidential Inauguration, have teamed up to donate a basket for the Auction entitled “American Summer.” Remember, all the proceeds from the silent ‘gift basket’ auction this year go to support the trip of a lifetime for Augusta and John to the Inauguration.
  • Dairy Princess Rachel Stoneburner has donated an Everything Dairy basket to the gift basket auction!
  • JD Equipment of Lancaster has donated a Stihl string trimmer to the Auction
  • One winning bidder will receive four (4) Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Tickets for Monday, December 5th in Las Vegas, at the Thomas and Mack Center on the campus of UNLV. These tickets are being donated by the Michael Family.
  • Bernie Fleming of Keller Farms Greenhouse is donating one unique tree or shrub for your landscape to the auction. Check back here later for a photo, or see it when you get to the Majors’ for Dinner.
  • The Blue Ribbon Showmen 4-H Club has donated two baskets. The first one is a “baking basket” entitled Scones and Tea and the second is a Culinary Herb basket.
  • The Camp Out basket has been donated to the silent auction compliments of Luke and Patty Woods.
  • Sally Grimm has donated a beautiful homemade, machine stitched quilt.
  • The 4-H Fashion and Nutrition Board has donated the Backyard Camping gift basket.
  • Local craftsman Bill Sitterley has made and donated a maple burl wood bowl. Get a sneak preview of it linked here.
  • The colorful cow painting you see linked here has been donated by Steve DeBruin DVM.
  • Five straws of Shorthorn beef bull semen from either TRNR EXCALIBUR or TRNR STAR POWER has been donated to the auction by Tom and Susie Turner.
  • Fairfield County Lamb & Wool Queen Marissa Mattox has donated a Fairy Garden. Take a look at this living creation linked here.
  • First year Fairfield County 4-Her Morgan Love has offered a wrapped print of this “Hereford in the Pasture” photo she recently captured while walking among the cows in her family’s pasture!
  • Farm Girl Factory has offered this hand made bezel faceted turquoise necklace from their store. It’s 24″ and the vermeil chain and all of the findlings are sterling silver.

  • Doug Majors has donated his four (4) tickets for the July 24th Nascar Race in Indy to the auction!

The auctions as well as dinner were held inside the Majors’ spacious new farm shop and were headed up by Legacy Auction co-chairs Tarah Reed and Wendy Beveridge.
