  1. Hello!

I really liked your presentation about the effects of global warming on corals. It is a very pertinent subject and I enjoyed learning about it. I was wondering how you measured the symbiodiniaceae density for your experiments? Also who did the collecting for the corals?

    Thanks for your time!

    • Hi!
The Symbiodiniaceae density was measured using the Countess tm II FL Cell Counter then analyzed in ImageJ. The full methodology can be found in Protocols.io (McLachlan RH, Grottoli AG (2020) Symbiodiniaceae Enumeration in Ground Coral Samples Using Countess™ II FL Automated Cell Counter. Protocols.io). Coral collection for this thesis was completed by the Grottoli Lab Group (Rowan McLachlan, Jamie Price, Kerri Dobson) between the dates 17 August and 13 November 2015. This project was also partnered with the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology (Chris Jury, Rob Toonen).

Let me know if you have any more questions!
