Are there income restrictions associated with the 2019 MFP payments?

Yes, MFP payments are limited to a combined $250,000 for non-specialty crops per person or legal entity. A separate limitation of $250,000 exists for combined payments of dairy and hogs. There is also a separate limitation of $250,000 for specialty crop growers. Even though all three of these limitations are separate- a single producer or entity is only eligible for a combined total of $500,000 of all MFP payments. Qualified applicants must have an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) below $900,000. However, if a producer receives 75% or more of their average 2015, 2016 and 2017 AGI from farming or ranching they can be exempt from this limitation as long as they comply with the Highly Erodible Land and Wetland Conservation regulations.
