Course Registration

Please refer to the registration guide for comprehensive information about divisional requirements.

Most first-year graduate students will sign up for:

  • 3-6 credit hours of divisional core classes
  • 3-6 credit hours of electives
  • Faculty Research Presentations (CHEM 6780)
  • Laboratory Safety (CHEM 6781)
  • Divisional seminar
  • Research – enough credit hours to bring your total for the semester to 18

There are some minor differences among the divisions, and some students will need to make schedule accommodations for ESL classes or other things.  I will be updating this page with a guide as that information becomes available.

How to register for classes:

You will log into BuckeyeLink (https://buckeyelink.osu.edu/) to register, and Jennifer Hambach will be sending more detailed information via email to guide you through this process.

Items of note:

  1. Complete the financial responsibility statement.  All students have a hold on their account preventing them from registering until this statement is completed.  Tuition and fees will be covered by your GAA, GTA, GRA, or fellowship appointments, but you still must complete this statement.  There is a link below with directions.  The hold is immediately removed from your account upon completion.

  1. Make sure that you are registering for the correct term (AU18).
  2. Once you have added all of the appropriate classes to your cart, you must click on “Finish Enrolling.”  If you do not complete this step, the classes will only exist in your cart and you will not be officially registered.
