CAUSES + DEMOGRAPHIC
- 54% of limb loss is due to vascular disease including diabetes and peripheral arterial disease.
- 45% is due to trauma. Less than 2% is due to cancer.
- African-Americans are up to four times more likely to have an amputation than white Americans.
