Goals of Future Solution: Prevent slipping, allow more weight to be carried, reduce risk in working with kitchen tools

Problem area: Cooking with one arm is inefficient and takes a large amount of time.

Goals of Future Solution: Make the cooking process more time efficient

 

(Awkward/Unnatural)

Problem Area: Cooking with one arm causes the user to be put into many unnatural and uncomfortable positions.

Goals of Future Solution: Make cooking more comfortable and user-friendly for people with one arm.

 

(Stability)

Problem Area: Cooking with one arm makes stabilizing pots and pans very difficult. 

Goals for Future Solution: Create a way to better balance pots and pans with just one hand. 

 

(Leverage)

Problem Area: Gaining leverage while cleaning pots and pans as well as stirring thick mixtures can prove to be a challenge.

Goals for Future Solution: Make leverage more attainable for one handed users.

Problem Area: Almost all cooking supplies are designed for people to be using two hands to operate them.

Goal for future solutions: Be operable with one hand.

 

(Challenging)

Problem Area: The condition of being an amputee makes cooking an all new challenge. It is much harder to perform tasks that were simple before and much more difficult to go through the motions. 

Goal for future solution: to become more comfortable with the situation and the new challenges it presents. Learn new methods and take advantage of potential studies, techniques, and products to make cooking less challenging as an amputee.
