After getting the basic AEV, we all made preliminary designs that can be seen in the designs examined page. Combining all our ideas for the AEV,our group decided to make a new part to increase aerodynamics: reduced air resistance and chamfered edges. We showed and discussed this part with the class for the grant proposal.
After getting second place on the part, we fixed the part to make sure the Arduino, battery, and arm could fit on the new part. We then designed the whole AEV with this new part. With the three views, the isometric view, the exploded view, and the bill of materials
We got this part 3-D printed. We will then run tests with the new part comparing it’s air resistance with the original design by testing how far it goes at different powers/
