aReflectance Sensors

The first experiment was the testing of the reflectance sensors. These sensors track the amount of rotations, or marks, that one of the wheels moves on the track. In using the reflecting sensors, the exact length of the track in marks could be found, shown below. Putting time in the code had already proved to be somewhat inaccurate, so using the marks was a definite step in the right direction. After finding the measurement of the track, it was easy to find the distance the AEV would travel when a certain number of marks was put in the code. To verify the reflecting sensors were working properly the AEV was plugged into the Arduino program. Here, the sensors were tested by the program and their functionality was recorded. This test was run multiple times to find the most accurate results, as the reflecting sensors played a very important role in the overall AEV project.
