Corporate Council and Draft Plan

We conducted a webinar with the Corporate Council this week. The feedback was very insightful and will help us further refine the strategic plan and the upcoming formulation of action plans. The council suggested adding a section to the plan that outlined the college’s strengths, and provided other valuable feedback relative to the research and education sections. Council felt the draft plan and links to this blog should be visible on the college website. Thus, you will find a link to this blog at http://www.pharmacy.ohio-state.edu/ . A draft copy of the strategic plan can be found here.

Meeting Week

While we await feedback for main campus on the strategic plan draft, we are moving forward with the next steps of the strategic planning process. In the upcoming weeks we will meet with the Dean’s Corporate Council and the Latiolais Leadership Advisory Group to ask for their insights on the current environment relative to our plan. In addition we are planning to meet with the Office of Institutional Research for guidance on creating the metrics for the plan.

Moving Forward

I’d like to make you aware of a few upcoming activities related to strategic planning.

This month, the leadership team (Kathy Kelley, Cynthia Carnes, Erin Delffs, Joanne Pearsol and I) will meet with the Dean’s Corporate Council to get their input on the implementation initiatives. Specifically, we will ask for their input as we move into the next phase of the process: creating action plans around each initiative. A similar conversation will occur with the advisory panel of the Latiolais Leadership Program.

The writing team will begin the process of assigning metrics to the top level strategic planning items. We will be working with Julie Carpenter-Hubin in the Office of Institutional Research, who will assist us with the creation of appropriate and useful metrics.

We will also begin the process of prioritizing implementation initiatives and assigning them to college committees and newly-created task forces. If anyone is interested in working on an initiative, please contact Kathy or me.
