Your professional website at u.osu.edu is going to be migrated to a new university-wide system. The College of Arts and Sciences (ASC) is now in partnership with the Office of Distance Education and eLearning (ODEE) so that professional websites can be offered to faculty, staff, and students across the university in the future. At this point, we are piloting this new service in ASC before full university adoption—the service will be rolled out for full ASC use at the end of August.
The new system is still in WordPress and any content that you have on your existing site will be moved over to the new system. Your site will have a new look that is up to date with recent changes in university branding; in addition, we have worked with ODEE to create two new themes. Once the migration has happened then you will be able to go in and choose which template you would like to use.
Beginning August 5, content on the sites will be frozen to enable migrations to the new system. On August 9 you will be able to log in to your site in the new system. You will need to click through a few agreements and then you will be able to edit your site and publish pages and posts.
August 5: All u.osu.edu sites will be frozen so that no editing can be done.
August 5-9: Existing sites will be migrated to the new system.
August 9: You will be able to go to u.osu.edu, log in, and edit your site again.
We will be looking for feedback as we work with ODEE to add more functionality.
