Last month, I had a chance to sit down with Chris Helman, the store manager at Tech Hub, for a conversation about the new store. Check out their conversation below, and stay tuned for future Tech Hub Talks – featuring student, faculty, and staff innovators from across campus!

Tech Hub: Now Open!
We’re telling everyone we know, including The Lantern that Tech Hub, the best place to Shop, Learn, Explore technology right on campus, is now open! Come check us out – we’re located in the Tuttle Parking Garage across from the Knowlton School of Architecture on Millikin Road. Want to take a study break from finals? OSU Students, Faculty, and Staff can browse our selection of laptops, tablets, software, and more to see our exclusive pricing, then stop in with a valid BuckID or Wexner Med Center ID to purchase, as well as shop for accessories we have in the store.
We’ve created Tech Hub to be more than just a store. In addition to our sales floor, we also have on-site BuckeyeBar technical support and can service hardware problems for Macs with Apple Care and and any PC bought in store. Tech Hub also hosts weekly programming and events to help you get the most out of the your technology, and lets you explore new ones. Field your iPhone and Mac questions with our Apple Campus Reps during Apple Office Hours, or try out the Oculus Rift VR headset during Tech Hub Labs Free Play!
Finally, Tech Hub is a “hub” for innovation and development on campus. We have a 3D printer on location and will be offering affordable, accessible 3D printing to all of campus. Through our Tech Hub Labs initiative, we also have a student developer kit (SDK) available for students to check out – with products like Oculus Rift, Google Glass, Myo Armband, Structure Sensor, Microsoft Kinect for Windows v2 and more. Checking-out items from the SDK is a free service, and students that participate will only need to write a post detailing their experience for the Tech Hub community blog!
Want to present or work in our space? We love hosting student organizations, workshops, and group projects in our demo space or collaboration spaces. If you are interested in reserving any of our spaces, email techhubbooking@osu.edu.
