in the process of conecting the images, I tried ink and clear tape. ink was a kind of material I used in previous assignments which gives people a water like feeling. The smoothness ink brought beautifully hide the gap between two images. However one big drawbacks of ink is it can fold the paper when they got wet. To solve which I used clear tape carefully between the gaps to make them connect flawlwssly.

In the process of making. One challenge is to do measurement and composition at the same time. I was scared to use ink as a media to draw, because ink is dark and unremovable. I was afraid of not get the right measurement which might potentially ruin my work. However, the darkness of ink on paper is way less obvious than I thought before. The light ink also can be treated as a base sketch and worked even better than light pencil marks I used to work with. I saw others works and their works are really different from mine. A lot of them have very clean image, lines and dots. Instead, mine is complicated, having heavy stocks and bigger blocks of color. I thought that was because of the tool I use is more like a wool pen which socks ink at the top of the tool. This kind of tool will leave thicker and smother marks on the paper. In the process, I don’t like to take risks, but it does not matter when everything is kind of new to me. I will say because of the tools I chose to work with gave me a bigger forgiveness when creating the work. This time, I chose a thinner tool like charcoal, which gave me harder time to recreate the scene because the nature of charcoal is more contrasty and less forgiving. The process was messy because unlike ink which dries really fast, charcoal could get on hands, clothes, everywhere no matter what time, which makes the process really stressful. Comparing two works, I found myself work better with ink, not only because of the forgiveness it provides, but also I can think without being stressed out by all the dirty spot on my hands in the process.
