Description:

Geographical analysis of North America; spatial patterns and processes associated with culture, politics, economy and social difference at international, national, regional and urban scales.

Students will work with local nonprofits to gain a greater understanding of the geographical dimensions of central Ohio and in particular the North American Industrial Core of which Licking County and Ohio are a part. Students will also have an opportunity to award philanthropic dollars to one or more of the nonprofits through a Pay it Forward grant provided by Ohio Campus Compact (http://www.ohiocampuscompact.org/). Nonprofits likely to be involved: Licking County Recycling, National Heisey Glass Museum, The Works, and the Newark Midland Theatre Association.
