Hometown:
 Cincinnati, OH
Major: Forestry, Fisheries, and Wildlife (FFW)
Specialization: Wildlife Science

Future Career Plans: Upon graduating, I will take a few years off before attending graduate school. I would like to take up seasonal field work as a technician or field assistant, which will allow me to gain exposure to potential career options within wildlife, expand my professional network, and serve as an awesome way to travel and work in beautiful parts of the country! Working as a wildlife biologist for a state or federal agency is my career goal, but for now I will take advantage of any opportunities that present themselves!

Internship: This past summer I went to Stone Laboratory and partook in a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program. I took on an independent research project with an advisor, which was part of an ongoing project involving monitoring bird survivor-ship on the various island ecosystems of Lake Erie.

Research: I am involved in undergraduate research in the Tonra Lab of Avian Ecology, where I am working on a research project involving wintering sparrows at the Olentangy Wetlands.

Favorite part of OSU/SENR: OSU has an incredible amount of resources and opportunities at the disposal of students, which I encourage everyone to take advantage of. This, in combination with the tight-knit community of SENR, grants students access to top-tier faculty and leading researchers in the field, as well as amazing connections that will pave the way to a great career in the future.

Other Campus Involvements:

  • On the Leadership Council for Environment and Natural Resources Scholars
  • Member of the Student Chapter of the Fish and Wildlife Society
  • Executive board member of the Buckeye Friends of Stone Lab
  • I work for the Department of Recreational Sports here at Ohio State, where I manage the outdoor recreational facilities around campus.
