Undergraduate Interns Matthew Ritzenthaler and Victoria Kinzel were interviewed by 10TV reporter Cierra Johnson, adding to our other recent media coverage! In this segment, Ritzenthaler and Kinzel explain the methodologies at the core of toy adaptation as well as the multifaceted benefits created by TAP’s partnerships for both engineering students attending Ohio State and children who acquire the toys.

The annual Nationwide Children’s Hospital Toys for all Tots event took place Saturday, December 9th. Toy Adaptation Program interns and student volunteers were fortunate to work directly with families and children from across Ohio and beyond, instructing them on the toy adaptation process and later donating adaptation kits and adapted toys to them.

TAP’s chief collaborator and Ohio State Assistant Professor Rachel Kajfez was hosted by the Crane Center for Early Childhood Research and Policy on Wednesday, December 6th where the program was able to gain some exposure with faculty, educators, therapists, and students affiliated with the university. In addition, intern Samantha Young was interviewed about the impact TAP has had on her professional development and personal life.

The Toy Adaptation Program will be collaborating with Nationwide Children’s Hospital at the Toys for all Tots event this upcoming month on Saturday, December 9th!
TAP also assisted with this event last year. Through partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the Toys for all Tots event, TAP was able to provide access to adapted toys for local Columbus families in time for the holiday season.
